... or maybe it isn't. England's Channel 4 had a special called The Great Global Warming Swindle.
It's posted on You Tube in 8 different parts.
Here's a link to part 1 of 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6IPHmJWmDk&mode=related&search=
You'll see links to the other 7 parts when you view this one.
Two very interesting facts that you won't hear on the nightly news:
One:The most fascinating fact so far is the revelation that Earth's temperature chart over the last century or two closely matches the graph of solar activity, and bearing almost no comparison to CO2 levels.
Two:There's great evidence that rises in CO2 are a result of increased temperature, not the cause of it.
You can stop reading right there, because those two sentences hold 90% of the impact of this post, and I get long winded after this.
Some highlights of the report. The former president of America's National Academy of Sciences wrote, in the Wall Street Journal, regarding the recent IPCC report that claims global warming (GW) is definitely man-made.
"I have never witnessed a more disturbintg corruption of the peer-review process than the events that led to this IPCC report."
"But this is not what it appears to be-- it is not the version that was approved by the contributing scientists listed on the title page."
What happened? United Nations beaurocrats and politicians deleted many vital statements which they didn't like. And we all know how infallable beaurocracy is.... how many PennDOT workers prop up shovels most of the day?
Some statements from some of the 15 key sections the politicians & beaurocrats deleted: "None of the studies cited above has shown clear evidence that we can attribute the oberved [climate] changes to the specific cause of increases in greenhouse gases."
"No study to date has positively attributed all or part [of the climate change observed to date] to anthropogenic causes."
I could copy more interesting (and enlightening) information, but there's a good fact every minute or two and I'm too lazy to type that much.
I'll post a link to the transcript of the program if I find one.
Hearing the clips of the 'activists' listing the evils of energy use and the costs we will all surely suffer reminds me of some anti-drug public service announcements on television/radio in the 80s. On this series of PSAs, celebrities would tell somberly stare at the camera and tell you "If you use drugs, you... will... die." Great scare tactic, but it makes me lose respect for you because you can't use a rational, honest argument.
Same thing for the hysteria-mongers scampering along at Al Gore's heels.
